St. Vincent de Paul

Julie Alaimo (206) 781-4848
The St. Vincent de Paul ministry provides compassion, food and other support to families in our parish area through home visits to those in need. We always conduct home visits in teams of 2 and we meet once a month to discuss our home visits and other conference activities. We also deliver food baskets and gifts from our giving tree to families at the Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter holidays.

Our conference also twins with the Blessed Sacrament parish to help fund their Sunday brunch/dinner program, which feeds many people throughout the Seattle area. We also twin with a conference in Santiago, Chile to provide funds for their conference to meet the needs of people in their area.

St. Joseph’s Baby Corner

St. Catherine’s Baby Corner, Inc. is a Seattle-based non-profit corporation founded in 1988 by parishioners at St. Joseph’s Catholic church in Seattle. Baby Corner’s mission is to serve the immediate and unmet needs of infants and children living in poverty. A collection crib is provided in the church vestibule for St. Catherine’s parishioners and school community members to donate items such as car seats, formula, clothing, blankets, books, baby wash, diaper cream, wipes, and diapers. St. Catherine School classes and Girl Scout Troops may hold donation drives for particular items (Hygiene for the Homeless, a Shower for Baby Jesus, Giving Tree during Advent etc.), and organize work parties to sort donated items and make them ready for distribution. Volunteers are needed to deliver donated items to Baby Corner. An annual Breakfast for Babies fundraiser is held each Spring. St. Catherine’s is typically represented at the Breakfast by 8-10 donors and 7th and 8th grade students often volunteer their time to help with the event.  Currently the following items are needed:
