ANNOUNCING "TEXT-TO-GIVE" AT ST. CATHERINE         206-460-1949

We are keeping up with technology! Now you can text an amount to our Online Giving phone number, 206-460-1949, and that amount will automatically be given to the parish as a "Stewardship Donation".

If you would like to give to St. Vincent de Paul, text an amount to this number and include the code "svdp".

If your account does not yet have a phone number attached to it, you will get a message back to add the phone number.

If you want to make this gift as a guest, without having to save account information, you will be guided to do so.

Please contact Carolyn Foster at the parish office if you have any questions.

ST VINCENT DE PAUL THANK YOU TO ST. CATHERINE:

Hello.  We all need some good news and I’ve got some for you!

Your St. Catherine St. Vincent de Paul group was able to procure a good used car for one of our neighbors in need.  It was a puzzle finding the car and putting together the money for the purchase, $6,400.  It required two St. Vincent de Paul grants, as well as a generous donation from a parishioner.   The neighbor is now driving a 4-door 2014 Hyundai Accent sedan with 74,000 miles on it and he can now return to work as an Uber/Lyft driver and package/meal delivery person.  (He formerly leased a car through Lyft but could no longer afford it after the pandemic hit.)  This will enable him to go back to supporting his family of four.  A life-changing event.  When I called on him last week he reported, “I made money today, God Bless SVDP and your community.”

I want to thank the St. Vincent de Paul Esterman Fund, St Vincent de Paul of St. Alphonsus parish, our anonymous parishioner, our car inspection mechanic and all of YOU for your continued support of the good work of St. Vincent de Paul in our parish.

God bless you!

John McDermott, SVDP-SC

PETER'S PENCE COLLECTION
Thank you to all those who contributed to the Peter's Pence Collection, a worldwide collection that supports the charitable works of Pope Francis. Funds from this collection help victims of war, oppression, and natural disasters. It is not too late to donate.  Donate online at this link,  Peter's Pence special collection (LINK) , or mail a check into the office.  Thank you!

ANNUAL CATHOLIC APPEAL 2020

We have already collected $61,930 from 163 families.

St. Catherine Parish has reached our diocesan goal of $58,158!     Thank you to everyone who has participated!  100% of any donations we receive from now on will come back to the parish.  The COVID-19 crisis is having a significant impact on our income, and these funds will go directly toward addressing needs coming from our lost revenue.  Thank you again!

Visit our ACA Page  for detailed information.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISES IN EVERYDAY LIFE

SEEL Retreat Invites you to a deeper relationship to God

The Spiritual Exercises in Everyday Life (SEEL) is a 9 month retreat format of the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius, meeting at St. Joseph in Seattle. The SEEL retreat goes from September through May and is a dynamic, transformational program of prayer and spiritual direction that can be done by in the midst of your daily life.  SEEL is accepting applications now for the retreat starting in September 2020. Because the safety of all participants is our highest priority, SEEL is prepared to offer the retreat either in person OR virtually depending on the current public health situation. Learn more at our website at www.seelpugetsound.org or call 206-721-3518. We will also host an online SEEL information session on Tuesday, July 7 from 7:00-7:30pm- email info@seelpugetsound.org to get zoom link.

ANNUAL NAMI (NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF MENTAL ILLNESS) WALK

OUR 2020 NAMIWalks Washington will be virtual.

As we look into the uncertainty of the fall, NAMI Washington has decided to take our NAMIWalks Virtual! Our Walk day will still be September 12th, 2020, the only thing changed is we will be gathering from a safe distance and coming together online.

How will it look? Working with NAMI National, we have adopted the "NAMIWalks Your Way" campaign for our walk. This means that our walk will look like how YOU want it to look! YOU decide what you want to do! Our commitment to improving the lives of all those affected with Mental Illness is what we will focus on, and that looks different for each and every one of us.

In the upcoming weeks, we will delve into how you and your team can fundraise, ideas for how to share your participation in the NAMIWalks Your Way day, and much more! This is all new to us as well, and we are working diligently to update our websites to reflect this change as well as learning the best ways to guide you through this change. We thank you for your commitment to NAMI Washington and understanding.

Thank you to our Premier Sponsor Fairfax Behavioral Health!

NEW PICTURE PARISH DIRECTORY - POSTPONED

Due to the uncertainty of our times, The photo sessions for our new parish directory have been postponed to next summer.   Thank you to the volunteers who have come forward to assist with this!   We will be in contact with you next spring when we start to plan this event.

CYO UPDATE ON SUMMER CAMP

In consultation with Church leadership, CDC, and community health resources, CYO camp officials have made the tough and disappointing decision not to have camp this summer given the current Covid-19 situation.  For those families who have already registered and paid their fee, you have the option of
1. Donating that money to camp to off-set costs for the coming year.
2. Applying the funds to camp for summer 2021
3. Requesting a refund.

CYO looks forward to a safe and happy 2021.  For more information please view the CYO video  (LINK)

YOUR COMMENTS ARE IMPORTANT - DON'T FORGET TO COMPLETE THE:

ARCHDIOCESAN PARISHIONER SURVEY FOR PASTORAL PLANNING (LINK)

Prior to the pandemic, Archbishop Etienne began an long-term pastoral planning process.   As part of that process,  all practicing lay Catholics in the Archdiocese are invited to complete an online survey that seeks to better understand the experiences, beliefs, needs, desires and faith trajectories of Catholics across western Washington.   Your responses are anonymous and confidential.  Locate the link on the front page of our parish website or go to  CatholicSurvey2020.org.
