IMPORTANT NOTICES ABOUT CHRISTMAS

CHURCH OPEN ON CHRISTMAS EVE DAY:
The church will be open on Christmas Eve Day, December 24th, from 10:30am to 4:30pm for individuals and families who may want to stop in for a visit. The church will be decorated and lit during this time and quiet music will be playing over the sound system. It's a great opportunity for those who may not want or be able to attend one of the Christmas Eve or Christmas morning Masses. No sign-up is required, but safety protocols must be met.

CHRISTMAS MASS REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
We are asking everyone who plans on attending one of the Christmas Eve or Christmas Morning Masses to pre-register. And we ask that this be done as soon as possible. Because of Archdiocesan and state mandates, we are limited to 75 congregants for each service in the church.  For the 5:00 pm Christmas Eve Mass, overflow attendees will be directed to the hall for a livestream and Communion.

CHARITABLE WORKS
Here are some ideas to share with people who want to give back to their parishes and communities this Advent season:

  • Call the homebound in your parish community.
  • Send Christmas cards to people in prison.
  • Create “ditty bags” for the Seafarers Ministry.
  • Find opportunities in your county through the Catholic Community Services
    Volunteer Portal.
  • Sign up to receive weekly Advent inspirations from Northwest Catholic.
  • Join the Ignatian Solidarity Network’s Advent Simplicity Challenge.
  • Volunteer with your local St. Vincent de Paul ministry or donate to their food bank.
  • Participate in your parish Giving Tree.
  • Pray for those who are alone this Advent season.

THE CHURCH HAS A NEW ROOF!   The flat part of the church roof was in very poor shape and needed to be replaced.  This was completed this fall. Thank you to all those who continually support our parish to enable us to address maintenance needs. The cost was able to be covered from our reserves.

DO YOU LIKE PRUNING BUSHES?  The parish is looking for 2-3 volunteers for one-time pruning of the bushes on the south side of the church, to get them below the gutter line and stay off our new roof.  Contact Carolyn Foster in the parish office if interested.  We already have one volunteer!

YOUR INPUT IS NEEDED
for the Archbishop's new pastoral plan! The Archdiocesan Pastoral Council has begun the process of creating a new vision for all ministries of the Archdiocese of Seattle and is seeking input from
Catholics and Catholic ministries to create a first draft of the new plan.
 PLEASE give your input here

THANK YOU FOR THE DIAPERS!

We owe you all a HUGE thanks for your generous outpouring of diapers and money for the Centro Rendu diaper drive. All of your conferences raised over $5,000.00—an amazing amount in such a short period of time. We stopped counting the diapers after 5,000—it was a tremendous number. We are just so very grateful for all of your Conference members and your leadership making this happen.

UPDATE ON OFFERING OF THE SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION

Due to Covid regulations limiting our ability to meet in person, preparation for receiving the sacrament of confirmation will be postponed until such a time when a mid-size group is able to meet in person. This is to make sure that preparation for Confirmation is as effective as possible. If you feel that there is a compelling reason why you or your child needs to receive the sacrament of confirmation this year, please reach out to Fr. Patrick and individual arrangements will be made on a case by case basis.

ALERT FOR FRAUDULENT EMAILS AND TEXTS:

Please continue to be aware!

We continue to see fraudulent emails saying they are from Fr. Patrick, asking for a favor or to buy gift cards.  This is happening to a number of priests.  We want to again stress the scrutiny that is necessary when receiving emails or texts associated with the church personnel.

It is best not to respond to unknown email or text messages because replies are usually the entry point to further exploitation. Father Sherrard will not ask you for a favor, for money or for gifts cards by email or text.   If you have any questions, please call our parish office.
