Fr. Patrick Sherrard or (206) 524-8800, ext. 101

Fr. Patrick was born in Seattle and raised in Covington, WA.  He attended Western Washington University and graduated with a degree in English Literature and a secondary education teaching certificate.  At WWU he was introduced to the Catholic faith through campus ministry and was called to convert to Catholicism.  After teaching middle school for a brief period, he entered seminary and attended Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. and the University of St. Mary of the Lake in Mundelein, Illinois. He was ordained to the priesthood by Archbishop Sartain at St. James Cathedral in June, 2016.  After ordination, he spent a year as a parochial vicar at St. Mary Magdalen parish in Everett, and another year as a parochial vicar at St. Paul, St. Edward, St George and St. Peter parishes in south Seattle.

Fr. Patrick is an avid golfer and loves to explore different courses.  He is a dedicated, lifelong Mariner fan, and has spent hours reading about the history of the game as a boy. He also cheers on the Seahawks and Seattle Thunderbirds. Especially in the winter months he enjoys chess, backgammon and cribbage, is interested in movies and books, and loves Mexican food.

Lauren Bergesen
Pastoral Assistant for Faith Formation
(206) 524-8800, ext 105

Lauren was born and raised in southern California.  She majored in history at the University of Santa Barbara, California, and then went on to receive a Master’s Degree in Church History from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California in 2007. Additionally, she earned a Master Catechist Certification from the Archdiocese of Los Angeles in 2014.

After completing graduate school Lauren became a Youth Minister and Confirmation Director, ministering to Jr. High and High School students for 6 years. Switching from Parish work, she took a position at a Catholic school where she worked for 4 years as the religion teacher for the 1st and 3rd grade students, the aide in the 1st grade classroom, and the director of the after-school program.

Her husband’s new job with Amazon brought them up to Seattle in 2017, and together with their little boy they’ve been enjoying exploring the Pacific NW!  The warmth and spirit of the St. Catherine community drew them into the Parish shortly after they arrived in Seattle. Lauren is very happy to have found a new home and a new ministry here at St. Catherine Parish, working with such wonderful children and families!
